Referee Responsibilities:

The TVSRA has contracts with several schools, leagues and associations to assign soccer officials for their matches.  Therefore, officials must abide by the following rules and regulations in regards to these assignments.

TVSRA officials agree to officiate soccer matches as assigned by TVSRA.  Officials understand, acknowledge and agree that these assignments are made based on the experience and knowledge of the TVSRA assignor.  TVSRA will endeavor, but shall not be bound, to assign officials based on their own expertise and qualifications.

Officials shall be compensated for all assignments at the current rate determined by that school, league or association.  It is understood that TVSRA shall not be responsible for making payment to officials.  Rather, the particular school, league or association to which matches are officiated makes payment.  No withholding taxes or contributions for social security, unemployment, disability insurance, or other employee benefits or contributions shall be deducted from the official’s compensation.

All TVSRA officials must accept the terms and agrees to comply with the TVSRA Discipline Policy (read) for missed assignments in order to be assigned matches.

Officials shall check the TVSRA Hotline at 690-5988 before matches to confirm that that game has not been canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. In any match that has to be cancelled or rescheduled, the TVSRA assignor will reassign the entire referee crew

Officials shall check the TVSRA website at www.TVSRA.net before games to confirm any changes in the games or the referees crew.  The web site will be updated by 12:00AM daily.

Officials shall confirm with other officials assigned to their game the date, time and place of the game before the match.  If a referee receives no response in a timely manner, i.e. 1-2 days prior to a match, the center/lead referee shall notify the assignor.

Officials shall maintain required uniforms and equipment needed for the performance of officiating.  Uniforms shall always be maintained and worn in a clean, professional and well-fitting fashion.

Officials shall abide by all rules and regulations adopted and made known by the TVSRA.

It is understood that officials are independent contractors and not an agent or employee of TVSRA or any school, league or association in which officiating services are rendered.
