Certify / Re-Certify for Current Year

Register as a Referee

Per US Soccer, new referees must be 13 years of age or older at the time they register. State Referee Committees have no discretion in changing this.  This change is due to new Federal Risk Management standards, COPPA compliance, and legal advice from the USSF legal team. Fill in the form for TVSRA New Member (if you have not done it before)

CURRENT REFEREES

RECERTIFICATION PROCESS

  1. Claim/log into your profile in OMS:

    • Go to tn.omgtsys.com

    • Click on “Member Sign In”

    • Your primary email address will be your username and your password will be your LASTNAME in all capital letters. You will be directed to change this upon logging in.

    • You will be directed to a page to update your personal information. Please use your LEGAL name (no nicknames, there is a box for your preferred name), your current mailing address, and an email address that will be checked often.

    • You may be prompted to complete a background check acknowledgement. This is a legal requirement for the system but is NOT an actual background check. You will need to complete a background check (if 18+) as one of your assignments within your course.

  2. From your Member Home Page, utilize the “I want to…” drop-down at the top of the page. Select “Register for Clinic or Fitness Test”. Registration for a specific clinic will close FIVE days before the clinic occurs. OR you can scroll down on your Member Home Page to the “Clinics to Reserve or That You Have Reserved” Box. This box will show you what courses you are eligible to enroll in if they are available. You can use the drop down OR this box to find the course you want to register for.

  3. Once you use the drop down OR choose a course from the “Clinics to Reserve or That You Have Reserved” box, the following screens will guide you through the three steps involved in the registration process

    • The first screen will ask if you have ever been convicted of a felony, violent crime, crime against a person, or fraud. It will also ask you what you are registering as (choose ONLY what you have previously been certified as). The last boxes will populate based on what you are certifying as. Check the box for RECERTIFICATION and the level for which you are recertifying at (the number of options will be based on what you are recertifying for, i.e. National or Regional Referee Emeritus vs. Assignor).

    • You will then move to the second page, which will be where you can reserve a clinic. This page will display a list of clinics available for you (specific to your certification level). You can search for a specific region or throughout the entire state using the drop-down menu to see courses. Once you select a course, click on the “Reserve Clinic” button, and then click “Continue to Next Step”.

    • You will then be directed to the next page – Checkout to Pay the Associated Fees. Here you will see the breakdown of the course fees. You MUST pay the ENTIRE fee at once. Please note, if you failed to recertify for 2020, you will have an added $40 lapsed registration fee displayed here that MUST be paid at the same time. After confirming the total, click “Complete Requests and Pay Fees”.

    • After clicking the “Complete Requests and Pay Fees”, a box will appear at the bottom of the page with billing information. Here you will fill out the payment information to finalize your registration. Once the payment is processed, you will receive an email receipt to your primary email address on file.

  4. Once you have registered for a course, you will see your registered clinic in a new box on your member homepage. You must have ALL assignments completed in order to receive your badge for the new registration year. The assignments are as follows:

    • For some of these assignments, you will be directed to go to the US Soccer Learning Center. Please use the same account in the Learning Center that you have previously used. Once you complete an assignment in the Learning Center, you can go back to OMS and the system will update with your completed process.

    • Background Check – you will be directed to the US Soccer Learning Center to complete a background check if you are over 18. The background check is an additional $30 that you will pay directly through the assignment. Your results will be valid for 2 years. If you have completed a background check for the 2020 registration year (Fall 2019-Spring 2020), you DO NOT have to complete a background check this year – you will receive email updates from US Soccer when you need to renew your background check.

    • US Soccer Recertification Module – you will be directed to the US Soccer Learning Center to complete the module. This module can be taken in multiple sittings, but be sure to close out of the Learning Center if you are not finishing the entire module in one sitting.

    • SafeSport – you will be directed to the US Soccer Learning Center to complete SafeSport if you are over 18. The initial certification will take about 2 hours, and each year after, you will need to complete a 30-minute refresher course.

    • Intro to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments – you will need to complete this assignment.

    • 2021 USSF Law Changes – you will need to complete this assignment.

    • Report Writing – you will need to complete this assignment.

    • Grassroots Recertification Quiz – you will need to pass this quiz in order to complete your certification.

    • Other assignments will vary based on what you are recertifying for and the respective requirements. All of your assignments will be listed out for you with the appropriate links to complete them.

  5. Once you have completed all assignments, your certification will be finalized, and you will receive your patch in the mail. Your certification will be valid until December 31, 2021.

Step 5: Download the IFAB Laws of the Game (LOTG).
