Applicable Roles
The Game Scoring Assistant feature allows for a referee or scoring assistant to check players in, enter the game score for a game, and enter infractions. The user is able to scan a QR code on the game card, enter the competition access code (if applicable), and then submit the relevant information. The game scoring assistant does not need to have a PlayMetrics account, they only need the QR code and access code (if applicable).
The article contains the following sections:
- Checking in Players to a Game
- Setting the Score for a Game
- Adding Infractions to Players and Team Staff
Access QR Code on a printed Game Card: Game cards for competitions with the Game Scoring Assistant enabled will include a QR code in the top right for the scoring assistant to use.
Access QR Code on Mobile: A Team Admin can access the QR code on a mobile device by going to the game details, clicking the ellipses in the top right, and then View Game Card.
Note: The Game Scoring Assistant feature cannot be accessed before the day of the game.
The assistant will scan the QR code with their camera and then be prompted to input the access code (if applicable).
Checking in Players to a Game
To check players in the scoring assistant will click the pencil icon next to the team that they would like to check in players for.
This will bring up the Roster page for the team. Here you can select the players that are approved to play.
Setting the Score for a Game
To set game scores the scoring assistant will select the option to Set Final Score, add the score for the teams, and then Save Score.
This will then be recorded as the official score for the game.
Adding Infractions to Players and Team Staff
To add infractions to staff members or players the scoring assistant will select the option to Enter Infraction.
Then select the team, staff member or player that you would like to give an infraction to, choose the infraction type, and add an infraction description. You will then Add Infraction.
Note: If the option to require infraction code when reporting infractions has been enabled in the settings of the competition the option to add an infraction code will also appear in this view.
